Abstract

Recently, the technology of cellphone increase very fast. The digital phone hit marketplace, the industry was swept by dramatic expansion. No longer did the phone belong to the business user, but to the general consumer. The customer can use phone to check e-mail, using internet, download music, take high quality photo, GPS device, Home electronics device, bookreader(eReader), and a lot entertainment systems. It is more than just a phone. The cellphone companies like Apple, HTC, Nokia, Motorola or even the Blueberry, all of them are continue to improve the cellphone features, espcially the internet speed  in smartphone. The internet created bigger marketing for cellphone comapnies. Before the smartphone came out, people just can use interent on the computer. But the smartphone changed people life and people new behavior. Now people can use internet in anyplace and anytime if you have a smartphone.  Customer can download different apps from the company system that is the reason why people were eliminate tradition cellphone.  According to the revolution of wireless industry was initiated in business markets, not in consumer markets. For instance, mobile solutions have been particularly attractive in two industries. Retail and health care have gone mobile for similar reasons. In retail, mobile computing has enabled a better point of sale and better customer reach. In health care, we’ve seen a definite rise in health care professionals wanting to improve the point of services at the patient level. This article will discuss what the smartphone role will be in our present and future life. A lot of things will change from paper to mobile forms, smartphone not just a communicate tool.

Apple iPhone

The global mobile phone market have 1 billion mobile phone users during ten years. On the 2005, mobile phone users more than two billion. According to the productivity of smartphone, the price also cheaper than before. On the other hand, the App program also be an important role in the smartphone revolution, especaily the App Store created from Apple. The iPhone change the concept of the smartphone. Since 2005 the Apple iPhone emerged as a cannibalizing platform, made for loading innovative apps, designed with finger-flicking ease-of-use in mind. The first iPhone came out on June 29, 2007. New York Time magazine named it the Invention of the Year in 2007. The Wall Street Journal’s Amol Sharma says Apple’s new iPhone will enter a crowded market for sophisticated cellphones that have entertainment and Web capabilities

Steve job used a multi-touch touchscreen to interact with a computer in a way in which he could type directly onto the display, essentially removing the physical keyboard and mouse, the same as a table computer. Jobs introduced the iPhone as a combination of three devices: a “widescreen iPod with touch controls”; a “revolutionary mobile phone”; and a “breakthrough Internet communicator”. The App Store also changed the smartphone market and human life behavior. The customer can download different category softwares in App Store, like entertaiment, newspaper, magazines, music, dictionary and so on. Some of them are free, some of them need to pay. It was also create a new market for the app progam. Besides iPhone, Android and BlackBerry were followed to develop their own app platforms. In the future develop the new app system will more important than create a new phone.

The iPhone 4S came out on October 4,2011, it was create a new human behavior for the smartphone revolution “Let’s Talk iPhone”. The iPhone 4S introduced a new automated  voice control system called “Siri”. It uses natural language instead of awkward preset commands, people can speak to it like a person, not a program. It’ll do the interpreting for you. Siri can bring up local restaurants, ranked by rating at your command. And it’ll write your texts and emails for user, like a diligent little secretary. This service was a big change for the smartphone.

From paper to mobile forms

How many remote control do you have in your house? How many credit card or MetroCard in your purse? If one day you can use your smartphone to control each different electronic products and pay the different bills, is it make our life become easier? It is the goal for the future smartphone. Recently, Google create a new system called “Android@Home”. Customer need to download the app from their phone, then connect phone to the Wi-Fi network at their house. The goal for this new system is use an Android phone to control your whole Home Audio system. In the other world, it’s mean the smartphone will replace the remote control in our life. Although this system just can control the audio at present. But Google believe after few years people can use smartphone to control each electronic product. On the other side, Visa has just out a new pilot program that allows New Yorkers to pay subway, bus and train fares with a wave of their iPhones. Smartphones that are equipped with a special sensor can transmit payment information to contactless card readers at fare gartes. Not only does this help people get though transit stations more quickly; it also eliminates the need to buy a transit card or dig around in your purse for your exicting pass. The Starbucks in Silicon Valley and Seattle store has launched an iPhone app that allows custom pay their bill by scanning their phone at the till. The mobile payment app also enables users to check the balance of their Starbucks Card, reload it with a major credit card and view thir transaction history.

Without the powerful system,  a phone’s interface is the first element we will consider and it is possibly the most important: Our phones are with us all day and we interavt with them more often and more consistently than other devices. Every custom hope can have a   phone with bigger screen and thinner body. And when you’re done, it can fit in your pocket very easy. For the future phone cutomer do not need to worry when they lost it. Every smartphone will have their own ID number, they can use GPS to find it.  Even the stranger take your phone, they can not use it or open it. Because the future phone will scan user fingerprint, if it is not correct the phone would lock automatically.

The future phone will be more automation and simplification and we will need it to control everything in our life. Maybe it would not just a smartphone, it will be a service  for the globalizing.

Abstract

Cellphone are very important in our lives. Most people use it to communicate with each other. It’s hard to believe that fifteen years ago cell phone were a rarity. Actually cellphone originated from the radio, and evolved into the telephone. Then radio were used since the 1921. Features were put into these radios in the 1940’s, and they were used by police. The concept  of the cellular phone was developed in 1947 which originated from the mobile car phone. This was produced by Bell Laboratories. The first actual cell phone was invented in 1973 by Martin Cooper of Motorola and other assisting inventors.

Martin Cooper said, “As I walked down the street while talking on the phone, sophisticated New Yorkers gaped at the sight of someone actually moving around while making a phone call. Remember that in 1973, there weren’t cordless telephones, let alone cellular phones. I made numerous calls, including one where I crossed the street while talking to a New York radio reporter – probably one of the more dangerous things I have ever done in my life.”

In 1977, cell phones went public. The first public cell phone was tested in Chicago with 2000 customers, and eventually other cell phone trials appeared in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore area. Japan began testing cellular phone service in 1979. The first cell phone came to the market in 1984 from Motorola. “The brick” weighed 2 pounds, offered just a half-hour of talk time for every recharging and sold for $3,995. It was very large and heavy that make them difficult to carry around. During many years the structure of cellular phones has evolved, the size and weight were also improved. Currently the smallest size cell phone in the world is similar to a pack of cigarettes. Cellphones also have different styles such as a flip phone or the slide phone. Not only for the cell phone appearance, but also for the cell phone features and functions would continue to be created.

This article will discuss the history of cell phones and the evolution of the system. After 39 years the cell phone can help people connect with each other, and also have many extra functions. It now has more than 4.3 billion people to use it, and we can’t live without mobile phones.

Technology innovation

Launched in the early 1980s, the nascent first generation (1G) networks relied on analog transmission for voice communication. The underlying concepts originated from two key standards- the Nordic NMT and the US AMPS. But the system was unstable and not private. It was replaced by 2G wireless digital standards. The 2G was due to the lower-power operation, the digital GSM networks enabled smaller and lighter handsets with greater security and longer battery life. Before the transition from voice to data, mobile evolution was often depicted as a linear progression from analog to digital to multimedia to broadband cellular: 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. The competitive realities were less orderly. The 3G technologies enabled faster data-transmission speeds, greater network capacity and more advanced network services. The first pre-commercial 3G network launched in May 2001 by NTT DoCoMo in Japan.

The mission for the last thirty years was putting a computer on every desk and in every home, said Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s president and CEO in 2000. But now everybody can use it on the smartphone through great software, any time and any place. Because of the increasing competition, DoCoMo was already working on 4G network. The 4G was a successor of the 3G and 2G families of standards. The facilities of this system was expected to provide a ultra-broadband Internet access, IP telephony, gaming services, and streamed multimedia.

The internet service was a big change for cellphone. This service provides mobile access to fixed-line internet service providers with near-wire line transmission quality and functionality. It included full web access to the internet as well as file transfer, e-mail, and streaming video/audio capability. It did not only change the role of cellphone in human life, but also provided incredible market in the future smartphone.

The first smartphone

Before the smartphone came out, people use it to connect with other people. Smartphone’s powerful feature and unlimited technology not only changed the role of cellphone, but also changed human life.  The first smartphone was designed by IBM in 1992 and was called Simon. But that was just a concept product, the real smartphone was sold on market in 1993. It contained a calendar, address book, world clock, calculator, address book entries, email, send and receive FAX and included games. The customer used a touch screen to select the contacts or the finger to create facsimiles and memos with an optional stylus. By the standards of today, the Simon improved from a serious low-end phone. Then many cell phone companies follow this step and continue to improve cellphone feature. In 1996, the Nokia 9000 was arguably the first in a line of smartphone. Then in 2001, Nokia created the first phone that supported the site. The press called it a phone for the photo field. The term gained credentials in 2002 when Microsoft announced its mobile operating system, then known as “Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone 2002.”  More than 1000 million cell phones with camera were sold on 2008. Smartphones with full support for mail represented about 10 to 100 million units. The most common mobile operating systems used by modern smartphones included Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, Microsoft’s Windows Phone, Nokia’s Symbian, RIM’s BlackBerry OS, and embedded Linux distributions such as Maemo and MeeGo. Such operating systems could be installed on many different phone models, and typically each device can receive multiple OS software updates over its lifetime.

According to the cellphone revolution human could see how fast was this product improved, The technology innovation would continue to be created.  It also meant that cellphones would affect our lives more than our thought.
